Skills Developed
Collaboration and Task Distribution
Students must collaborate within their team to solve challenges correctly, make strategic decisions, and navigate. Good challenge distribution is essential as multiple aspects need to be monitored during the game.
Problem-Solving
To solve the creative challenges, students need to think analytically and outside the box.
Strategic Thinking
Students must determine their next challenge based on their location, potential mistakes by other teams, and the remaining time.
Flexibility
Various changing situations occur during the game that students must respond to flexibly. The number of points earned in challenges depends on the performance of other teams, and the locations of other teams are crucial for strategic decisions.
Communication
Effective communication within the team is crucial for understanding challenges and sharing information about discovered clues.
Time Management
The game lasts 95 minutes. A countdown clock shows the remaining time live. Students must consider the remaining time when making strategic decisions, especially in the last 20 minutes of the game.
Orientation
Using the app and what they see in the streetscape, students must orient themselves.
Language Skills
Urban Hunt is available in Dutch, English, and French. This allows students to work on their language skills, possibly in a language other than their mother tongue.
Knowledge Acquisition
Historical, cultural, and unique facts about the city are covered during the game.
